Why are you shutting down the Tweetbackup Service?
We always intended to have Tweetbackup users join Backupify’s base twitter service. Only now we have two great Backupify endorsed options for businesses and personal users. For businesses, we recommend Backupify’s social media backup product and for personal users we recommend
Norton’s Ditto
Are there other Twitter backups available?
Yes, there are several great options. As a personal user we recommend
Norton’s Ditto, a free service from the Symantec family. Ditto offers Twitter, Facebook and Gmail backup. It takes only a few minutes to set up, and runs automatic weekly backups.
Of the other automated paid services to choose from, we recommend
SocialSafe.
Twitter also offers an export service. To export your files, follow these few steps:
- Log in to Twitter.
- Select Settings from under gear icon in upper right.
- Select “Start My Archive”.
How do I export my data from my Tweetbackup account?
- Log into your Tweetbackup.
- Navigate to the “Exports” tab.
- Select the account and format and your export will begin to download.
What do I do with all the data in my Twitter export?
We have captured all your Tweets and mentions. You can use your export as a comprehensive record of your Twitter use.
How long will I have access to my Tweetbackup data?
Tweetbackup will stop backing up your Twitter account on June 15th. You will have an additional 15-days, until
June 28th to retrieve any data from your account. At that point, your data will be deleted from the Tweetbackup servers and your Twitter account will no longer be accessible via the Tweetbackup web interface.
What happens to my data after the 45 days?
After 45 days we will begin purging the data from our Amazon servers. This means that if you come to us after the June 28th deadline, we may not be able to help retrieve your data. If you require assistance or have any questions about the process, please contact us as soon as possible.
Will I still be able to login?
No. Tweetbackup will no longer be an active service and logins will be disabled.
How do I get additional help?
The best way is to issue a ticket through the
Backupify helpdesk. This system allows our team to respond quickly and track the issue through to resolution. You may also choose to email support directly at
support@backupify.com. If the issue is related to the termination of your Tweetbackup service, please include TWEETBACKUP in the subject line.
